My first pair of socks.

Ankle socks

Pattern : I followed instructions/suggestions/guidelines from several different tutorials/patterns. They were knit cuff down.

Yarn : 1 ball Elann Esprit in Incan Clay. I was left with 20" of yarn!

Needles : 3 mm DPNs

Techniques learned : Turning a heel, short rows, grafting.

I knit them around 4 to 6 weeks ago. Since then, I've been brave enough to wear them ; ) Knitting socks was something I was looking forward to since I started kniting a year and a half ago. Anklets in a non-sock weight yarn were a perfect first sock project. You get to the challenging parts quickly. I made the second sock a little smaller than the first because the first one turned out a little too loose. So the yarn didn't pattern the same way but I really don't mind. I enjoyed knitting socks and there are more pairs in my future.
